Vetiver Rioja Blanco
Decanter Magazine May 2021 - 92 Points
“Vetiver can be a little anonymous, but not here. A combination of old-vine fruit and four months in American oak have coaxed out wonderfully complex yet idiosyncratic flavours of beeswax, quince, honeycomb and a whole lot more. Terrific value.” Decanter
Vetiver Rioja Blanco - An open and appealing nose with lemon and pineapple notes and floral hints. There is a voluptuous mouth feel of tropical fruit, with some toasted and smoky characters. Well balanced, with fine, natural acidity.
Whilst not exactly mainstream, white Rioja is now most definitely a ‘thing’. With examples like this it’s easy to see why. Produced solely from Viura and given 4 months in American oak to mellow you get just the right balance between ripe tropical fruit and toasty brioche.
Exceptional value and quality.
