Portugal
From the meaty reds of the Douro to the light, spritzy white of Vinho Verde, Portugal has something for everyone. The native grape varieties may sound peculiar, but rest assured the wine tastes great.
Modern wine making techniques and large scale investment in the past ten years mean Portugal's wineries are now some of the most up-to-date in Europe, whilst still managing to preserve its unique heritage of distinctive indigenous grape varieties. They now produce a whole raft of classy, well made wine, here are just a couple of my favourites.
