Bodega de Sarria Vinedo No 9 Cabernet Sauvignon - This wine is the real deal. Winner of numerous awards it will not disappoint.
A powerful aromatic nose of typical Cabernet triggers, green pepper, cedar, spices and blackcurrants. Super concentrated palate of rich, smoky, dark berry fruit, with a firm structure of fine tannins and balanced acidity. Lengthy, savoury finish.
The Bodega de Sarria lies on a large and beautiful estate in the hills above Puenta la Reina, near Pamplona. Vineyards cover 210 hectares, mainly south-facing slopes at 400-500m altitude.
Founded in 1953, Sarria was one of the pioneers of quality winemaking in Navarra but standards slipped until the current owners, the Bank of Navarra, put a huge investment programme in place in 2001. Mature vineyards are being revitalised, new vineyards planted and the cellars have been totally overhauled.
This Cabernet is a multi-award winner, full-bodied, not for the faint-hearted!
After racking the wine is transferred to 100% new Allier oak casks and allowed to mature for 3 to 6 months. Once bottled the wine remains in the winery for one year before release.
