Senorio de Sarria Chardonnay - An exquisite Spanish Chardonnay from the Navarra region. This is a fresh and stylish unoaked Chardonnay with intense, lively citrus fruit aromas. Quite full on the palate with ripe peach and apricot characters balanced by crisp acidity. The Bodega de Sarria lies on a large and beautiful estate in the hills above Puenta la Reina, near Pamplona. There vineyards cover 210 hectares. Founded in 1953, Sarria was one of the pioneers of quality winemaking in Navarra but standards slipped until the current owners, put a huge investment programme in place in 2001. Mature vineyards are being revitalised, new vineyards planted and the cellars have been totally overhauled. Senorio de Sarria Chardonnay is produced from 100% hand harvested Chardonnay grapes from 15 year old vines. This wine is ideal for light courses, seafood, fish and soft cheeses. |
