Giardinelli Vineyard Salice Salentino - A hearty red, full flavoured and mouthfilling - perfect with full-flavoured dishes. A wine of real substance, absolutely beautiful.

Lovely bramble fruit, raisin and dried fig aromas. The palate has a touch of spice, somewhat Syrah like, to balance the black fruit and ripe tannins - a wonderful balance of sweet ripeness and bitterness typical of Negroamaro.

Salice Salentino lies in the warm south of Italy, in the heel of the boot.

Vereto Salice Salentino is made from a blend of rigorously selected Negroamaro grapes, with a touch of Malvasia Nera to add complexity and elegance. The grapes are hand harvested from Agricole Vallone's own vineyards in San Pancrazio Salentino. Here the vines are on average 40 years' old and trained in the traditional bush system known as 'alberello'. This wine has been matured for 8 months in oak casks.

This is an old favourite, and I'm drinking my way though my stocks at an alarming rate!
This is a great wine to serve with hearty tomato based pasta dishes, homemade pizza or lasagne. Great too with a casserole of beans or lentils.
