Percheron Shiraz Mourvedre - Percheron is a blend of the Shiraz and Mourvedre grapes grown in the Western Cape. This lovely rich and smooth red is superb value-for-money. Soft enough to enjoy on its own, but with the intensity to partner steak or a Sunday roast. The label celebrates the Percheron, a breed of French heavy horse employed in pre-mechanical farming and now enjoying a resurgence in South African viticulture - several Cape vineyards, as elsewhere in the world, have re-introduced this noble beast to the vineyard, where hooves prove a healthier steed than the soil-compacting, fuel-thirsty tractor.
