Finca Antigua Tempranillo - The vagaries of fashion being what they are, La Mancha, a well-known wine district, has only lately begun to return to popularity. This wine is at the forefront of the revolution! Aromas of preserved red fruit, yoghurt, dried figs, vanilla, toffee and white chocolate! Very elegant contribution from the barrel-ageing with a nice balance between fruit and oak. Elegant, concentrated and long in the mouth. In 1998, after more than a century in Rioja, the Martínez Bujanda family decided to embark on a new project, and bought the large Finca Antigua estate in La Mancha. At the very high altitude of 900 metres, and with plenty of limestone in the soil, this was the ideal site not just for the Rioja grapes, but for international varieties too. |
