Adelina Grenache - Spicy, earthy and heady, this is absolutely delicious. The Adelina winemaking philosophy is simple: make wines which exhibit a sense of place, the definition of site, climate, and season, whilst utilising minimalist approaches. Well they've done all that and much much more, this is a real goodie!
The fruit is grown in Adelina's Springfarm Estate vineyard in the Clare Valley. The vines are over 65 years old and the clones are thought to be from original Valley stock.
Adelina is a small winery and vineyard nestled in the Spring Farm Valley between the Aberfeldy and Wendouree vineyards, approximately 4km south/south east of the township of Clare. The small vineyard has an elevation of approximately 450 metres above sea level and was originally established in 1910. The current owners, the Gardner family, have owned the Spring Farm Estate and Winery since 1986. Winemakers Col McBryde and Jennie Gardner are renowned for making sensually rich wines of considerable length.
