Gebling Grüner Veltliner - Award winning Grüner Veltliner - A crisp and aromatic dry white with youthful, lightly floral aromas and citrus and green apple fruit. Quite full and richly textured with flavours of apricot backed by tangy grapefruit characters leading to a spicy, savoury finish and a firm minerality that should enable it to develop in bottle for at least 5 years.
The Sepp Moser Estate was founded by the famous Austrian wine producing pioneer, Lenz Moser. Lenz Moser's son, Sepp Moser, began operating under his own name in 1987 and handed over the direction of this family-owned estate to his own son Nikolaus in the year 2000.
The Sepp Moser Estate comprises of 50 acres of vineyards in two prominent wine regions: Kremstal (22 ha) and Neusiedlersee (28 ha). The Grüner Veltliner grapes for this dry white were grown in the steep, terraced, south facing Gebling vineyard, one of the most renowned sites in the Kremstal region. Grapes are grown according to biodynamic principles (though the wine is not officially certified as such) with only natural treatments used and yields kept low to give concentrated and healthy grapes.
The grapes were destemmed and crushed and the must left for another 3-4 hours before pressing. The must was fermented and aged in stainless steel (no wood ageing) and then bottled under screwcap.
