Casa Lapostolle Merlot - This Merlot dominated blend has aromas of ripe red fruit with sweet spices and notes of rosemary and herbes de Provence towards the end. An excellent example of just what Chile can achieve with the Merlot grape. Medium-bodied, well-balanced and fresh. Lapostolle is owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle family (of Grand Marnier fame), and since the winery's foundation in 1994 has pursued an uncompromising approach to quality. Their objective is simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroir of Chile. An obsessive attention to detail is guiding them towards this goal, with techniques like night-time hand-harvesting and hand-destemming ensuring the fruit reaches the winery in immaculate condition |
