Castel Firmian, Merlot, Mezzacorona - The fruit for this wine comes exclusively from Mezzacorona's own vineyards in areas north of Lake Garda, an area particularly suited to the cultivation of Merlot. It has an intense nose and flavour with a mixture of ripe fruits and just a hint of oak. This wine had a short period in oak barrels for six to eight months. Mezzacorona is a driving force behind the quality of Trentino wines, with a state-of-the-art winery handling fruit both from the company's own extensive vineyard holdings and from local growers. This Castel Firmian wine takes its name from a fifteenth-century castle overlooking the Rotaliano plain in Trentino. |
