Kanu Shiraz Limited Release - A wonderfully fresh, spicy style of Shiraz that is remarkable European in style. It shows ripe black fruit on the palate followed by some spicy, peppery notes finishing off with a toasty twist. It's the perfect wine with barbecued fare. Kanu has an enviable reputation among South Africa's leading Chenin Blanc producers, and since the arrival of winemaker Richard Kershaw in 2003, the rest of the range had received the same attention, both in the winery and in the press. The bird seen on the labels is the Kanu, the mythical bird of promise; according to the story, all who fall under its shadow will be blessed with a bountiful harvest. |
