Bodegas Ismael Arroyo, Valsotillo Crianza - Ribera del Duero is where Tinto Fino (as Tempranillo is known here) mounts its challenge to Rioja's predominance of quality Spanish wines. This much sought-after Bodega has just released this top-notch Crianza. It's typically satisfying and complex, unhampered by new oak; simply rich, dense fruit from 50 year old vines. This 2005 is the best Crianza I've tasted from the Bodega, with its lush black cherry fruit and real depth. A good match with Beef Wellington. (Limited availability) |
