South Africa
Little has been known about South African wines until fairly recently and for many of us, buying a Cape wine is often a ‘maybe' but perhaps more often a ‘maybe next time'.
But South Africa is now calling us to sit up and take notice, and we are!
Progress in wine production has in recent years been as dramatic as the beautiful South African landscape. There has been steady investment into the South African wine market and entirely new wine-producing areas are being established. There are now some 100 ‘Estates' in South Africa (where producers grow their own fruit) and these represent the best that the Cape has to offer wine lovers.
